The Brainerd Police Department currently supports an active Bicycle Patrol Unit.
Community Service Officers (CSO)
The Community Service Officer (CSO) provides a variety of support services to the department, including errands and inter-office mail deliveries.
Crime Prevention Unit
The Crime Prevention Unit, established in 2003, is responsible for maintaining a number of programs geared toward crime reduction through education, analysis, and collaboration.
The Brainerd Police Department's Investigation Division consists of an investigative sergeant, two full-time general investigators, a school resource officer, and an investigator assigned to the Lakes Area Drug Investigative Division (LADID).
The purpose of the Police K9 Unit is to assist patrol officers and narcotics investigators in detecting and seizing illegal narcotics.
The Brainerd Police Department Patrol Division provides 24 –hour service to the community 365 days a year.
The Records Department is responsible for creation, use, storage, sharing, indexing, filing, retrieval, preservation, distribution, retention and destruction of all police records.
Tactical Response Team
The Crow Wing County Tactical Response Team is a multi-jurisdictional team comprised of members from the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office, Brainerd Police Department, Baxter Police Department, Nisswa Police Department, and Crosby Police Department.
