Downtown Reconstruction


Project Overview

The Downtown Project consists of reconstruction of streets, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and some watermain. Additional streetscape items such as trees, planters, benches and kiosks will also be constructed as part of the project.

The project area includes Front St from South 6th to South 8th, Laurel St from South 6th to South 8th, South 7th from Maple to Laurel, and the alleys in these areas.

The project consultant for the project is Widseth Smith Nolting and SRF Consulting. The general contractor for the project is Toms Backhoe Service of Brainerd.

Construction is scheduled to begin April 20, 2009, weather permitting, and be completed by July 31, 2009.
