Water and Light Board / Public Utilities Commission (PUC)
Purpose: The Public Utilities Commission controls, operates and manages public utilities which are now or may hereafter be owned and operated within the City.
Meeting Dates and Time: Meets the last Tuesday of each month at 9:00 am at the Public Utilities Business Office Conference Room.
Committee Membership: The Commission is comprised of five members plus a Council liaison.
Mayor recommends nomination/Council approves.
Qualifications to Serve:
- Be a resident of the City of Brainerd or have an ownership interest in a business or other property within the City of Brainerd.
- Interested in the operations of the City Public Utilities Department.
Length of Term: Five years.
Compensation:
- Commission President receives $200 per month.
- Other members receive $175 per month.
- Health and life insurance benefits are provided.
