The Fire Department is responsible for new construction plan review and inspections at various stages of construction to ensure compliance with the Minnesota State Fire Code and City Ordinances. The Brainerd Fire Department covers the following governing entities: Cities of Brainerd and Baxter, Townships of Crow Wing, Long Lake, Maple Grove, Nokay Lake, Oak Lawn, St. Mathias, and Unorganized. The Department conducts routine life safety fire inspections of existing commercial, industrial, and multi-family residential structures to ensure continued compliance with the Minnesota State Fire and Building Codes for the safety of the building occupants, firefighters, and for our community.
